KWin freeze and drm:i915_hangcheck_ring_idle messages w/ kernel 3.4.6

Hi.

I have upgraded to 3.4.6 kernel this morning.

1) When Xorg was started, my KDE session was frozen.
I have restarted my session without KWin effects, it worked.
I reactivated the OpenGL effects then KWin immediatly froze again.
I tried XRender effects, it works.
I also noticed my session is a bit slower than usual. I have for example micro-freeze when I scroll page in Firefox.

2) I get many errors in dmesg :

[ 114.659253] [drm:i915_hangcheck_ring_idle] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... blt ring idle [waiting on 142, at 142], missed IRQ?

My system is up to date.
I use xf86-video-intel with an "Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller".

I tried SNA and UXA acceleration. Both freeze KWin.

My workaround : I have downgraded to kernel 3.4.5, KWin works with OpenGL and I have no error in dmesg.

Before I will report a bug, has anyone the same problem ?

Thank you.

Re: KWin freeze and drm:i915_hangcheck_ring_idle messages w/ kernel 3.4.6

Hi.

I have upgraded to newest Intel driver (xf86-video-intel 2.20.1-1) then rebooted (on the 3.4.6 kernel).
This seems to be working but I don't know if this is related.

I will wait for few next reboots.

Re: KWin freeze and drm:i915_hangcheck_ring_idle messages w/ kernel 3.4.6

Today i upgraded dbus and xf86-video-intel. I restarted dbus and then kdm. I have succesfully logged in KDE but plasma-desktop crashed and i just couldn't start it. I repeated previous procedure (restarted dbus and kdm) with no luck. When i rebooted the machine everything worked fine.

I have syslinux (in grub2 i get the same messages but not in grub-legacy) and from yesterday i get this one:
