250 GB for "/" is not a very good idea. On a HDD, the read head could travel too much, slowing down the computer.


If you have a separate /usr partition, read the advice from here. Most likely you're missing the "usr" hook from mkinitcpio.conf or there's something out of whack with your fstab. Good luck.

It's because you don't have a proper ~/.xinitrc, specific to your DE (desktop environment).

Pro tip: Don't run "startx" logged in as the user root.

The package for nvidia, is nvidia and xf86-video-nv, but, however, if it's working nvm.
