after giving command pacstrap /mnt base base-devl

I am trying to install dual.iso Arch in VMware player.
When i give command pacstrap /mnt base base-devl
it says:-
Warning: Database file for 'core' does not exist
Warning: Database file for 'extra' does not exist
Warning: Database file for 'community' does not exist
Error: target not found : base
ERROR: failed to install packages to new root

i tried editing : nano /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
filled mirrornames, but when i go to save, it says file does not exist.

can somebody help, pls?

with pacman -Sy also the results are exactly identical.
I was able to access/edit the mirrorlist.
