Catalyst legacy

Hello to everyone

Iam a new arch user, but I had linux (debian, fedora etc) for many years.

I have a problem when trying to install the fglrx modules.

I tried using the unofficials repos ... but I ended to just a black screen.
I tried the catalyst generator and at the installation of the modules an error prompt about the depmod, not found.

I am sure that I had all the configuration steps done.
I have an ati radeon mobility 4000.

Could someone confirm an complete installation?
And with which method.

Thnk you!

Re: Catalyst legacy

Hi, I've got the same problem as you with catalyst-total-hd234k and xorg-server 1.12.3.
But downgrading to 1.11 fixed it for me.

Add the following above all repositories in your pacman.conf:

[xorg111]
Server = http://catalyst.apocalypsus.net/repo/xorg111/$arch

Then run

# pacman -Syuu

to downgrade xorg-server.

Re: Catalyst legacy

The legacy driver is for cards up to the HD4000 series so you can use the "normal" one.

Re: Catalyst legacy

@Radioactiveman

Thank you for your instructions.
I followed them, but it doesn´t downgrade the xorg-server.

Is there ,maybe, an extra step to take?

#EDIT#
My mistake.
Everything seems fine!

Thank you for your help!
