wine-20040615

Hi,
I have a windows program which requires wine-2004 version to run correctly, hence I want to install wine-20040615, but in current we only have current/wine 20050830-1.

Please tell me how can I install wine-2004 binaries.
Is compiling from source the only option ?
Or can I install the .deb files I have ?

Regards,
Abhay

Re: wine-20040615

you wll not likely be able to use .deb files in Arch...

so compiling from source is the easiest thing..

a tip is to make your own PKGBUILD

.use abs and take te wine pkgbuild from it and modify

Re: wine-20040615

Man oyu are a life savor. Cannot express my thanks to you.
This was a major reason, I could not get Lotus notes working properly.
Now Notes work like a charm, much faster than my Desktop ( Kubuntu/gentoo). Not sure why this is faster than even gentoo???
In gentoo, I can simply go to portage directory, check and  install the version of wine  <any package>  I want, Looks like here, I will have to google for it.

Still this was a big relief,
Thanks again.

either that or make your own pkgbuild  big_smile, arch just have the lastest, most bleeding edge of things *that is why I like it....that and the fact that is fast*

For the record, you can use Arch CVS to get PKGBUILD of previous versions: http://cvs.archlinux.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/
