Bluetooth pairing times out

I'm trying to make a bluetooth connection between my phone and my dell laptop (according to lsusb the device is: Bus 002 Device 005: ID 413c:8160 Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 365 Bluetooth). I have tested it on an ubuntu 11.10 live cd and everything works without any problem but I'm getting some errors here.

when I try to pair the device with bluez-simple-agent it prints the following error and pairing fails:

Creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed: Page Timeout

When it searches for the devices it can find the phone with no problem but when I try to pair the device or anything it gives me a timeout error. I have also tried to connect with my phone to pc with no luck. also using gnome-bluetooth or blueman has not fixed the problem.

I really appreciate If anyone has any suggestions on finding the cause of the problem and how it can get fixed.

Re: Bluetooth pairing times out

Does someone have a solution for this?

I experience the same error for my bluetooth headset.

[orschiro@thinkpad ~]$ bluez-simple-agent hci0 00:1A:7D:B0:70:69
Creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.ConnectionAttemptFailed: Page Timeout
[orschiro@thinkpad ~]$ pacman -Q bluez
bluez 4.101-1

Regards

EDIT:

It worked to pair the the device using a craphical bluez agent
