its for PCI hotplugging. Most MB's don't support it. To disable it, add it to /etc/hotplug/blacklist.

I already brought this up, though I can't seem to find that thread right now. :? What's funny about this is that lack of device support for the module ought to give a "no such device" error (like trying to modprobe hw-random on most mobos).
