Admittedly I am new to the pacman-key command, but I have not been able to verify the .sig file supplied with the latest ISO. I downloaded the .sig file provided on the www.archlinux.org/download/ page to my /tmp directory and then ran the command:
pacman-key -v /tmp/archlinux-2012.08.04-dual.iso.sig
and get back the following
gpg: no signed data
gpg: can't hash datafile: No data
==> ERROR: The signature identified by /tmp/archlinux-2012.08.04-dual.iso.sig could not be verified.

and you have archlinux-2012.08.04-dual.iso.sig and archlinux-2012.08.04-dual.iso both in the same folder?

Thanks that fixed it. From documentation it looked like I did not need to do that, but once I put the .sig & .iso in the same folder and ran the command it worked perfectly:
"gpg: Good signature from "Pierre Schmitz <pierre@archlinux.de>"
