I have a machine here which explodes on booting from the archlinux installation CD. I have tried custom kernels, and commanline options; but it just reboots after loading vmlinuz. Knoppix behaves exactly the same, but works perfectly when using the 'noapm' option. Since this seems to be a 'normal' kernel parameter I assume that I should get Arch to boot as well by somehow passing it that same parameter.
Some help might be useful. Can someone explain how Knoppix boots but arch won't?
