No modules after kernel upgrade [solved]

Not sure what the actual problem is or what to search for. When I last did a system upgrade, after rebooting most of the modules are not loaded, including the NIC's, so I have no network interfaces.

pacman -U to previous kernel and gets me back up and running, but is not a solution.

uname -a says 3.4.6-1, but I just upgraded to 3.4.7-1.

/usr/lib/modules contains "3.4.7-1-ARCH"

so somethings out of sync, but I don't know what. What did I do?

Re: No modules after kernel upgrade [solved]

I think I'm just booting off the wrong disk or partition somehow. Hold on...

Re: No modules after kernel upgrade [solved]

Possible cause - you have a separate boot partition, which was unmounted when you upgraded the kernel package.

Re: No modules after kernel upgrade [solved]

I think it was something like that. I had 3 disks in the machine and installed onto one disk from a running install on the other. Must have mixed something up somewhere and didn't notice till the kernel upgrade. Took a bunch of notes on the uuids and model numbers and got it sorted out. Now to remove that failing drive.

delete thread? or suggest better thread titles and move?
