Hi,
I have difficulties installing several packages because (apparently) their signatures are invalid or the packages are corrupted.
The packages are: libgnome-keyring, libsoup-gnome, libpng and libusb-compat
For each of them I get an error, for example:
"error: libpng: signature from "Ionut Biru <ibiru@archlinux.org>" is invalid "
failed to commit transaction (invalid or corrupted package)
So far I have tried several things to solve this:
- Use a bunch of different mirrors, including ftp.archlinux.org
- cleared the pacman cache (pacman -Sc )
- updated the package database, forced (pacman -Syy)
removed /etc/pacman.d/gnupg and initialized again by:
- pacman-key --init
- pacman-key --populate archlinux
Then clearing the cache, and trying to install again I still get the error messages..
Please note:
- Other packages install fine
- I have done a fresh system install, using the latest install media, all went fine so far.
The packages are a dependency for others, including gnome which I'm actually trying to install (pacman -S gnome)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for taking over this thread, but I have tried the same steps with package:
kde-meta-kdeutils: signature from "Andrea Scarpino (Arch Linux) <andrea@archlinux.org>" is invalid

Edit: Nevermind. Different issue. My apologies.

- cleared the pacman cache (pacman -Sc )
That command only clears uninstalled packages which would work if they're not installed at the moment.
When I had a problem with a kde package (iirc it was bash) I rm'ed the offending package and downloaded/installd it again which worked.

I got
perl-perl4-corelibs: signature from "Justin Davis" is unknown trust.

Thanks! I will be ignoring Webmin and its dependency perl-perl4-corelibs until he is officially trusted again then.

Okay, it seems it's an orphan. I just removed it.

OK - ignoring all the sidetracks here.... SS4 gave the answer, thanks!
Manually deleting the corrupted packages from the pacman-cache && reinstalling works.
e.g.
rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/libpng ..
pacman -S libpng

Had similar issues with another package (some perl stuff).
The following command fixed the problem:
pacman-key --refresh-keys
