First post... I barely every post to any forum, but I'm having trouble with my mic. When i try recording with my mic, with any program, my resulting sound file has static in the background. I tried recording with sampling rate of 48000 (my card's max rate) and downloaded pulseaudio to see if it would fix it (although i have a feeling another package is managing sound, and I don't thing pulse is set up correctly).
Tell me what outputs to post, what files you want me to post etc, I will reply promptly. And how do I upload a .wmv file? I want to show you an example.
edit: also, whe loading a fceux rom when not root, it says "loading sdl sound with pulse driver" and the sound doesn't work and it runs realling fast. when Running fceux as root, it says "loading sdl sound with alsa driver". I think this might provide some clue to what's not working.

Can somebody point me in the right direction? I need to post config files or something? I'm new. I found that In alsamixer if I turn up "internal" then the mic input goes out the speaker... not fuzzily though... maybe I could record that?
