Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

Today:

* Added new "Installation" and "Basic keys management" sections to GnuPG.

* Clarified some wording in Dropbox.

Previously:

* Clarify system specification of Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (also started some ACPI talk).

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

Finally made my XKB HOWTO draft into something readable and put it to the wiki:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/XKB

Comments, suggestions, bug reports, minor fixes, major edits etc. are welcome.
Chances are I'll add a couple more sections later, but on the other hand, maybe I won't and in the meantime someone else will.

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

This is "How I wanted to improve the wiki today but couldn't"

The wiki page for the new install scripts is incomplete for the syslinux bootloader
because pacstrap /mnt syslinux won't just do it. You still have to get it installed into
the MBR (syslinux-install_update -i -a -m -c /mnt) and change the default config file so that root=/dev/sda3 matches up with your root partition.

But someone set the page to be Read-Only.

Maybe you can add it to the Discussion page?

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

Added to the MTP articel, because accessing my Galaxy Nexus was a pain in the ass and pretty much nothing that I found
on the internet worked (gvfs-gphoto2, libmtp, mtpfs tested serveral versions). Hope this saves someone else some time.

Feels good to finally give something back to the community.

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

Added a new section to systemd about writing custom service files. I hope this can help people trying to replace the rc.local service. Most of the content was copied from arch-dev public.

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

Yesterday I hit a broken link in an article, determined the correct link, and fixed the link on the wiki page.

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

I recently wrote a page for my new computer, which is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E430.  So today I discovered the (non opensource) drivers for my fingerprint scanner, so I wrote a page for fingerprint-gui... in retrospect, the fungerprint scanner is really annoying.

Re: How did you improve the wiki today?

I have been dusting around on the LUKS page since July, cleaning links, lightly changing and adding tidbits, including my first ever systemd-oneshot (Yay!) for an AUR package referenced somewhere there.

Then after a great recent experience with the September Install Medium on a notebook, I recently added a subsection on how to prepare the mounts to install base to plain, no fancy, no-LVM LUKS in that discourse. Felt that was at a loss before. I follow the talk page there.

I hope bumping this thread will be a reminder that the wiki is a community contribution.

I just finished writing the article X Logical Font Description.
