ASUS N56VM Laptop Arch Installation

I'm planning buy a new laptop. ASUS N56VM. Is there any compatabilty problems with Arch or Linux. And Have anyone had problems(on installation, gpu problems, keyboard and touchpad anything about the pc) with this one. If it is, I'll think Dell's XPS L502x.

I can't say for sure but I never had any problems installing on my ASUS laptops.
None of them is exactly like that one though

Re: ASUS N56VM Laptop Arch Installation

Those specifications are not very specific in that they really don't note the brand/model of the components listed.  I think where you might have the biggest issue is with the "b/g/n" wifi.  You really don't know what you are going to get there.   If there is somehow an option to ensure that it will be an Intel wifi card, go with that.  Otherwise, I really don't know specifcally.

Re: ASUS N56VM Laptop Arch Installation

Thanks for answers.I think, there are 2 wifi options 'cause in the drivers page there are 2 drivers one for Intel and one for Atheros. Also it has Optimus graphics, uefi, bluetooth 4(same options, like wifi),usb 3. So i should check out UEFI,Laptop,Bumblebee wiki pages. Are there anything more should i checkout?

And finally can grub to be installed with uefi options when the pc is booted in bios mode?
