Orphans

It seems like there's more orphan packages out there.

Any way we can find out who made the package in the first place, why they disowned them and what the hell is wrong with them?

Just curious.  Not that I want to hurt them.

Re: Orphans

Some of these orphaned packages are in the community repo.  That's because 2 TU has left.  Eventually, another TU will adopt them. If these packages needs to be fixed or updated ( the out of date flag doesn't seem to work for orphaned pkg :? ), post on the tur-users ML.  As for the other pkg, probably the person wanted to share the PKGBUILD but didn't want to maintain it. There might be other reasons, though.

Re: Orphans

Why do they leave?

1) Too much work?
2) Finally found someone willing to live with them?
3) The sound of drums beating in the distance and people chanting "Ubuntu!  Ubuntu!"?
4) Have to devote that extra time to World of Warcraft?
5) "Creative differences"?
