[Solved] ARCH Hand book

Last December, I had bought ARCH LINUX HANDBOOK by Dusty Hoffman. (Had costed me $20).  Now, it is irrelevant, due to changes in rc.conf, initscripts, systemD, etc.
Will a new Handbook be released?

Lession: For emotional (donation)reasons, never buy a hand book for a rolling distro

Re: [Solved] ARCH Hand book

I'm surprised he sold such a thing.  The general advice is that printed guides are a bad idea: by the time they are printed they are out of date.

What's wrong with the wiki and man/info pages?

And do you mean Dusty Phillips not Hoffman?

The version I found is just the beginners guide anyway.  Why spend $20?  Even if you don't have a printer, the local library would print out the wiki pages for less than that.  I wouldn't begrudge a guy from making some change, but this is just silly.

you are right, it is Dusty Phillips, schwag merchant.
The book is blue in colour, nice attractive. Nothing new in this, same wiki guide bound by the attractive colour.
Book name is Arch Linux Hand Book 2.0
Bought it on  awebsite. The said they would donate 46 to ArchLinux, so...

Ah ... perhaps I reacted poorly.  It does seem to be a nice way to raise funds - if that's what you're looking to contribute to.  But the actual product would be pretty easy to make for yourself.

Re: [Solved] ARCH Hand book

The Handbook was great when it came out, an excellent piece of work and a great way to contribute to Arch.  Obviously Arch is rolling so any printed material will age quite quickly.

Re: [Solved] ARCH Hand book

There's a 3rd edition, updated as of June 2012.
YMMV as to how useful it is.
