Hello!
I'm trying to use XMPP for video chat, preferably with Kopete, as I use KDE. My XMPP account is at ...@jabber.ccc.de if that's important.
According to this Wikipedia Entry I expected to be able to video chat with a Windows machine running Jitsi. But in Kopete, I can't find a button for starting a video or even voice chat. When I try to start the chat from the Windows machine with Jitsi, it tells me, Kopete would not support the jingle protocol.
With some searching I found that Jingle support should have been added to Kopete with the release of KDE 4.5.
Has anyone here ever used Kopete with XMPP to do a video chat and can propably help me with this?

I don't think it has worked for a long time. Kopete is essentially unmaintained now, you should try telepathy-kde

Oh that's sad but good to know! Thanks for the answer!
I'll try that when I come back later.
Update:
OK, at least I can make video calls from telepathy to telepathy but not between telepathy and Jitsy. I'm going to have a new thread opened for that...
Thanks for the help!
