[SOLVED] /etc/ vs /mnt/etc

I am reading the Beginner's Guide in the wiki, and up to fstab configuration, I was working with /mnt/ directories. Why the working directory changes to /etc/ in the configuration section and not to /mnt/etc?

Re: [SOLVED] /etc/ vs /mnt/etc

In the configuration section you are preparing the chroot.

Once you chroot to /mnt the /mnt/etc will becomes accessible as /etc.

I did not see the chroot part! Can I just run the chroot and begin the configuration again?

If you type 'exit' while in the chroot /mnt/etc will become available again. You can chroot/exit back and forth between them.
