graysky, does the new systemd replacing libsystemd and systemd-tools have any effect on your kernel? IOW, should we wait with the Syu until you upgrade your kernel?

I don't think so; my boxes are running linux-ck flavors just fine and are up-to-date.  Is there a reason to think otherwise... have I missed something?

Probably not, linux-lts got upgraded the same time with systemd (coincidence as it turned out), it just caught my eyes. Better ask I thought to myself, so I won't be sorry later smile
Thanks graysky.

Re: unofficial linux-ck repo with cpu optimized packages is ONLINE

I'm pretty sure the only thing that's happened with systemd replacing libsystemd/systemd-tools is a package merge; there's no change in functionality, just a (more or less) forced installation of the rest of systemd along with udev, etc.

Re: unofficial linux-ck repo with cpu optimized packages is ONLINE

I switched to Systemd and on some bootups Systemd hangs at starting dkms.service for a few seconds and then I get the login prompt on tty
but it should start lxdm. Sometime it wokrs like it should (Systemd doesn't hang and lxdm starts).

With the arch stock kernel this doesn't happen at all.

Re: unofficial linux-ck repo with cpu optimized packages is ONLINE

Running virtualbox?  The dkms service will rebuild your vbox modules which takes some time.  The ARCH packages provide the prebuilt modules.

Re: unofficial linux-ck repo with cpu optimized packages is ONLINE

Yes virtualbox-bin from AUR it has dkms as dependency

I thought it only builds the modules if a new virtualbox or kernel version is installed, and not at every boot.
And why does the lxdm service / X not start if the "problem" occurs?

With the stock kernel it always works.

EDIT
aren't the prebuild modules from the ARCH packages for the stock kernel only?

ok, dkms service is not the Problem, I deactivated it but the problem still occurs?
How could I figure out what's the problem?

It doesn't sound like a ck-specific bug, it's probably best to open a dedicated thread for it.

Yes i understand, but generally there is very little on the kernel-level that should be of influence in this context. At least a dedicated thread will allow more elaborate investigation without going too much offtopic in this thread. smile

You need to flag that package out of date in the aur.

1. Register an account and log in.
2. Find the package - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=34770.
3. Click the 'Flag Out-of date' button.

FYI, it has already been flagged over a week ago.

OK... you now have all packages in the p4 flavor for x86_64.  Please let me know if problems.
You may install via the 'ck-p4' group or one-by-one, i.e.

$ sudo pacman -Syy && sudo pacman -S ck-p4
$ ssh repo-ck
...
$ ls /data/repo/x86_64 | grep p4
broadcom-wl-ck-p4-5.100.82.112-20-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
broadcom-wl-ck-p4-5.100.82.112-20-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz.sig
linux-ck-p4-3.5.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

CPU-specific optimization are invoked at compilation by selecting the corresponding option under Processor type and features>Processor family or by setting-up the .config file accordingly. These changes setup make specific gcc options including the $CFLAGS. For more, see the following files:
