[SOLVED] Wacom pen input/touchscreen problems on Lenovo X220 Tablet

Recently my touchscreen and pen input on my Lenovo X220 tablet have stopped working. Browsing on the forums, I found this post which seemed to document my exact problem. It recommended to downgrade to the 3.4.9 Linux kernel and to uninstall and reinstall the xf86-input-wacom package.

I've followed both of these steps, but to no avail: the pen and touchscreen have no effect on my computer. Additionally, the wacom driver is no longer loaded during bootup (lsmod | grep wacom results in nothing), and it is not even mentioned in dmesg (using dmesg | grep -i wacom). However, the device is present, as shown in lsusb:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 147e:2016 Upek Biometric Touchchip/Touchstrip Fingerprint Sensor

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Apparently it appears to have fixed itself. I haven't done anything more than these steps plus rebooting, but somehow my touchscreen works again. *shrug*
