[solved] Awesome WM starts but refuse to anything

As said in the title when I "startx" awesome wm shows himself but refuse to open terminal or to show the manual.
The only thing I am able to do is to click quit.

Thanks for your help and sorry if it's a stupid error, it's been an hard day.

Look at you rc.lua and make sure you have the correct terminal and editor selected. Then try again.

Ok indeed a stupid error, i didn't install xterm. Now the problem is that if I start awesome suddenly my keyboard layout is not recognized. I tried to do

loadkeys it

but nothing changes :\

EDIT: ok it seems that the problem is with xorg and hotplugin not recognizing my keyboard, I'll mark this thread as solved since there is nothing wrong with awesome.
