Laptop keyboard will spontaneously stop working, requires reboot.

Hi all,

I'm a newcomer to Arch Linux and I recently installed it on a HP DM1-4108AU laptop computer. The installation is all of two days old, but it's had a strange issue: within five or ten minutes of booting, the laptop keyboard and trackpad will stop working, and I'll have to use an external USB keyboard & mouse. it doesn't matter if I'm in the console or in X/XFCE. After they stop working, they don't show up in lsusb and I can't get them working again.

I've searched, but I can't find much information relating to this issue. I've already followed the advice for Synaptic trackpads, but that hasn't helped this specific issue.

I'd appreciate any advice you have. Thank you

If you have any form of USB power saving enabled (laptop-mode-tools, power managers, etc), try disabling it. Also, look through the output of dmesg after your keyboard looses power.
