Nice setup.
I tried to use conky in the background when i used subtle, but i allways got conky to be shown inside a "window". How did you solve it?

I use in my .conkyrc

own_window_transparent  = yes

and i've commented

own_window = yes

I assume own_window = no can do the trick too.

I'm working on a tutorial for adding icons to the front panel (you'd think it would easy to add icons to the front panel but you'd be wrong).

But I'd recommend installing from git since the PKGBUILD is still a little rough at this point.

I dropped them in a new directory (/usr/share/fonts/cde) and added that to my font paths.

No, it doesn't. I love, it's funny extension for cairo-dock. (Icons are following pulseaudio equalizer)
