I recently did the update to fontconfig 2.10.1, and it would appear that autohinting is broken (my fonts, particularly DejaVu Sans, appear particulary wider and blurrier). I've tried everything I can think of to correct it: playing around with the symlinks in /etc/fonts/conf.d, manually creating/editing a local.conf, tweaking things in infinality-settings.sh, using infctl, etc. Nothing seems to be able to set things to the way they were before the fontconfig update.
I followed the update instructions to the letter; I manually rm'd the symlinks and ran the system update just as was described in the news post.
Here is a screenshot showing the difference: the top is what it looks like now, and the bottom is before the update. Same font, same size/style, just what appears to be no autohinting on the current one. ![]()
If anyone has any suggestions (even if this turns out to be an incredibly stupid PEBKAC and it's a link to docs
), they'd be much appreciated.

Welp, it appears that since this is "not a bug" (or so the report is marked), there's nothing I can do about it. Looks like I'm gonna have to just change the font I use. It sucks, because now sans-serif fonts on some of my frequently-visited sites look ugly (they use the same typeface). ![]()
I tried editing 10-autohint.conf, and adding an /etc/fonts/local.conf and ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf with the aforementioned (in the bug report) clause, but none of those did anything different whatsoever.

I removed the symlinks as suggested in the news but I did not create new symlinks. My system is working fine with infinality.. Didnt have to mangle anything else.
