Laptop runs hot even when using windows after arch install
Just installed Arch onto a second partition on my hard drive (dual booting with windows 7) and I have noticed that not only does my computer run hot within Arch, as has been noted extensively in the forums and on the net (and I have been semi-successful in reducing the system temperature when running arch), but even when my computer is running off the windows OS, my laptop is hotter than it was before the arch install.
I'm really asking about the windows overheating issue rather than the overheating in arch.
Has anyone had this problem themselves, and did they think of a solution to the issue?

I really don't think its even possible for the arch install to affect your windows temps...

I wouldn't have thought so, either. It makes no sense. My windows install can't hibernate now either though, it just turns off the display when I tell it to hibernate.

I think we might not be able to help with your Windows problems here, but I would check that all the drivers were up to date and/or installed.

The elephant in the room told me that maybe it's time to open up the laptop and blow the heat sink and processor fan out. It's just preventative maintenance with laptops.
I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
