Hello everybody,
today I installed arch on my new x200. Using powertop to check the powersaving options I noticed that the C6 state for the core 2 duo is missing. I have seen in debian wheezy that the C6 state ist supported and used. Must I load any additional modules to get the C6 idle state?
Best regards

Here's some potential explanations.

I saw under debian and powertop that C6 state was hidden when the ac was plugged in and it appeared when the ac was unplugged. But it doesn't show up under arch .
... and battery life is definitive lower under arch.

Was it powertop 1 or 2? Arch currently has only powertop 2 AFAIK...

powertop-1.13 under debian. Could really be that the powertop 2 has buggy output, it also shows two display blacklights which are using nearly the same wattage. It estimates a usage of 8.2 W for only the backlight which is far to high I think.
I will try to get powertop-1.13 running...

Ok, powertop 1 and powertop 2 show different C-states, so now I don't actually know what C-states are actually used. Using the tlp script brought the battery life to same amount as under debian.
