[SOLVED] genisoimage alternative.

Hi, I'm new here.

I try to remastering the install from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Re … nstall_ISO
Yeah, customisations are fine, but Finally I missed Creating a new ISO section.

Once you have edited your custom ISO to your needs, you must create a new ISO image. This can be done with the genisoimage command.

I was searching with pacman but no such a command errors.
I some How-tos, any pacman's packages but I couldn't create correct ISO file. I guess my ISO is correct mksquashfs didn't report no errors.
mkisofs could create iso file but dd command did not passed(0 out).

So what is another way to generate new iso? Or I should try Archiso directly?

Thanks for the help.

Re: [SOLVED] genisoimage alternative.

You might want to get familiar with pkgfile: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pkgfile

pkgfile is a tool that tells you which package owns a specified file or which files a given package provides.

I think new users should read the various introductions and FAQs: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/FA … is_X_in.3F
(I think this is the link we should be posting, since newcomers may not know that something like pkgfile even exists, but we can expect them to read the FAQ)

Re: [SOLVED] genisoimage alternative.

Hi Guys,

I apologise to say thank you, because I couldn't finish install my arch with LVM over over and agin.
Install cdrkit is absolutely true. And I didn't know find other way within pacman.

# pkgfile --update
$ pkgfile genisoimage

This solution is the best. Thanks for all!

This opinion is true. But for noob like me, it is difficult to understand all FAQ section with command. I guess this information should be add Beginer's Guide.
But I love Arch Linux's wiki has the many great contents for me.
