Today I have found alsa-tools to be Orphan (moved to AUR and not having a maintainer). Can anybody, please, motivate the decision? The thing is, RME cards (hdsp alsa dirver) are just literally unusable without hdspXxx tools included into the package. As a result at the moment Arch officially doesn't support all these pro audio cards.

You might want to follow this thread on the mailing list: http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/ … 10397.html
EDIT: It used to be in the community repo, by the way.

Maintain it yourself. If its not in [extra] that means none of the devs care about it. If it was dropped from [community] that means none of the TUs either.

I just wanted to be sure it isn't technical decision, and now I see it is human resources/interest deficit.

It is still actively developed:

As far as I understand, the reason of throwing the package away from Arch repo is package maintainer absence rather some facts related to alsa-tools development.
