These lines (and some more) in your dmesg seems odd, i think;
I don't know if the kernel uses nouveau per default for the framebuffer,
but i think that has to be disabled if aiming to use the nvidia-drivers.

[    4.196618] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: Detected an NVc0 generation card (0x0ce080a1)

[ 4.202411] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: Checking PRAMIN for VBIOS

Regarding the actual xorg-starting;
Are you sure that you have libgl replaced with the nvidia one, and not the generic one still there?

Otherwise, i am out of suggestions at the moment, but i hope someone can come up with a solution for you.

I actually have loglevel=3 in my kernel line already.

I do agree with that weird dmesg. I don't have nouveau at all. As far as I know when I installed the NVidia drivers it removed libgl. If I do pacman -R libgl, I get error: target not found: libgl. So, as far as I know I do not have libgl at all.

I had the same problem with the low Framerates.

I'm using Nouveau because the Community nvidia driver gives me random white lines across the screen. Couldn't stand it. Minecraft worked great with it. But again I hated the random white lines.

So I went back to to nouveau, deleted the xorg.conf and booted X. This time I installed nouveau-dri package. I no longer get low framerates and get rid of the annoying lines.

Mind you though I'm using GeForce 6100 for my lousy computer.

This may or may not help you but I felt like sharing for other who might have the same issue as me.

Nouveau has never worked for me. I run a GTX 560, which I don't think is even supported by nouveau.

Re: Minecraft FPS Issues

To my untrained eye, it still appears nouveau is around somehow? I haven't a guess as to why, but that's what it looks like to my simple mind.
