SATA-Controller / PCIe

Hi,

I'm searching an SATA Controller for my Arch Linux server. It hasn't to be any "server"-class equipment since it is just a small home server, so i would say i would spend up to 200 € for it. (If less would be sufficient, it's fine too big_smile Or should I spend more?) It should have at least 4 SATA II (or III) ports and should fit in a PCIe (x1 … x16) port. Somebody has any recommendation for such a controller? It should work flawlessly with the latest linux kernel – preferably "out of the box". And is has to work fine with 3 TB disks, but i think this that shouldn't be a problem.

Would something like the Promise FastTrak TX8660 or Promise FastTrak TX4660 be fine?

Thanks for any suggestions! smile
