[Solved] Is http://mirrors.kernel.org always slow to update?

Not looking for technical help, but more a question from regarding experiences of longtime Arch users.

By far the fastest mirror for me is kernel.org.  I have noticed though that when I see packages have been updated, I sometimes do not see this reflected when I update pacman.  I have moved mirrors.kernel.org to the second spot in my mirrorlist.  But I was just wondering, is this how mirrors.kernel.org usually is?  I guess I want to know if I should remove it (or put it on the end) because it will frequently lag behind the others and therefore not typically have the packages I need available when I do my daily udpate?

Use reflector in [community].

CPU-optimized Linux-ck packages @ Repo-ck  • AUR packagesZsh and other configs

kernel.org does not refer to a single mirror.

kernel.org was not updating its' repo databases for the last couple of days, even though the main site was showing packages being updated.
I just had to switch mirrors in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

I've had poor results with kernel.org since the hack/rebuild a while ago, i've stopped using it altogether in favor of a single local mirror...

Thanks so much, that was exactly the info I needed.

@ngoonee - sorry I probably should have been more specific its http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch

Marking as solved, and moving that mirror to the bottom of the list as the "If all else fails, break glass" mirror.

You misunderstood me. mirrors.kernel.org is not a single machine, it redirects you to local (or near-local) mirrors.

Afaik it does not anymore. Since they got hacked everybody seems to be redirected to mirrors.us.kernel.org

Oh? That may explain why it doesn't seem to be quite as high up on my reflector list as it used to be then smile
