[SOLVED]USB flash drive no longer showing up in /dev
My USB flash drives are no longer showing up in /dev. I also don't see them in /dev/disks/... either. Dmesg outputs:

Corrupt mbr or gpt? Maybe see if fdisk/gdisk/parted recognizes it.

It happens with all USB drives, so I doubt that. None of those programs see it without the block device showing up.

Forgive me if this is too simple - but I've been guilty of it a number of times myself: have you rebooted since your last kernel upgrade?
This is the expected outcome if the kernel that is actively running does not match what is installed on disk.

Damn, I wondered why I could only connect my USB drives after a reboot. It seems like kernel releases happen more often than me plugging in an USB stick.
