Blankspace around URxvt windows in awesome

I seem to get some blankspace at the bottom and on the right side of my URxvt windows when using awesome:

I've tried adding this to my rc.lua, however the issue persists.

Many thanks in advance for any help on this, I can't seem to find a solution.
