upgrade issues xorg 11R6.8.2-6

Just upgraded to xorg 11R6.8.2-6, and the latest xfsprogs and shadow, and now my system does not start X. I have kdm enabled in my rc.conf, and I can see the NVIDIA screen, followed by a loading cursor, but then it just exits back to the console. I tried startx and was able to get to a minimalist window manager, but KDE would crash while displaying the splash screen('loading system services') I tried GDM, but this exits the moment i start typing my login name.( the exact moment i touch the keyboard). Please help.!

I took a little more extreme step, uninstalled everything and rm -rf /opt/kde and rm -rf any traces of xorg...I backed up my kde config files though. Everything fine now, thanks.
