I am trying to rip a DVD for the first time. Using transcode is very confusing. I am hoping someone knows of something like abcde for dvds.
***For those who don't know
abcde=a better cd encoder and is a simple command-line interface to the programs used for ripping the cd and then encoding it such as cdparanoia/... and lame/flac/...

I use DVD::rip to rip dvds (perl frontend to transcode really). Another option is Acidrip, which is simpler.
Both are available in Extra.

My dvd::rip install has broken after the big upgrade some days ago. Now it says
** CRITICAL **: file gdk-pixbuf.c: line 79 (gdk_pixbuf_unref): assertion `pixbuf != NULL' failed.
Can't call method "get_width" on an undefined value at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/Video/DVDRip/GUI/ImageClip.pm line 134.
Does anybody know how to fix it?
Thanks,
drojid
