Sound Card Diffrent Output

Hello smile

I have CMI 8738 Sound Card and im using Alsa Sound System. But i have broken my default sound output in card (that green one - somebody broke cable), and my question is :

is it any software way under linux to change default sound output to other ? For example i have working other outs of the card like Blue (SPKR Out), Red (Mic Out), Yellow (Line in), Green (Rear Out). Can i fol example plug my headphones to rear out (green) and do some magic command to change default alsa output ? Or is it hardware limited ?

Re: Sound Card Diffrent Output

While some codec chips that sit behind a HDA controller chip are able to retask their jacks, it (unfortunately) appears that the CMI8738 does not have this feature (and it doesn't require a HDA controller).

It does seem that this chip can swap the front and rear channels (bit 4 at register address 0x24), but I don't think that would help to fix your problem.
