Wireless network disconnects constantly

Hi everyone, I've tried setting my wireless network up manually and it has worked but eventually it disconnected, so I tried Wicd and Netcfg but I had no success.
First I was using dhcpcd and i was getting this kind of messages:

 Sep 23 19:33:15 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: carrier acquired
Sep 23 19:33:15 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: sending IPv6 Router Solicitation
Sep 23 19:33:15 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: rebinding lease of 192.168.0.3
Sep 23 19:33:15 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: acknowledged 192.168.0.3 from 192.168.0.1 `HG530'
Sep 23 19:33:15 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: checking for 192.168.0.3
Sep 23 19:33:19 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: sending IPv6 Router Solicitation
Sep 23 19:33:20 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: leased 192.168.0.3 for 86400 seconds
Sep 23 19:33:23 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: sending IPv6 Router Solicitation
Sep 23 19:33:27 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: sending IPv6 Router Solicitation
Sep 23 19:33:27 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: no IPv6 Routers available
Sep 23 19:33:45 localhost dhcpcd[1356]: wlan0: carrier lost

then i changed from dhcpcd to dhclient, and it seems to work 'better', anyway the problem continues and the network fails constantly It is very disgusting because happens in my home and in my university it's worst.

Re: Wireless network disconnects constantly

At the beginning of the log, it references b43, so it would seem it is a broadcom.  Though more information would still be much better.

I noticed the issue couple days ago.  The list of packages I updated from my last system update on Sept. 21 can be seen below.  Since the new linux kernel should be released into the core repo soon, I'll wait and see if that fixes the issue.  If not, I'll try downgrading to the 3.5.3 kernel, which was working with wifi

automake-1.12.4-1 cantarell-fonts-0.0.10-1 fluidsynth-1.1.6-1 git-1.7.12.1-1
hwids-20120906-1 libpipeline-1.2.2-1 libwbclient-3.6.8-1 linux-3.5.4-1
linux-headers-3.5.4-1 linux-pae-3.5.4-1 linux-pae-headers-3.5.4-1
lirc-utils-1:0.9.0-27 man-db-2.6.3-1 networkmanager-0.9.6.0-2 qt-4.8.3-2
samba-3.6.8-1 smbclient-3.6.8-1 sudo-1.8.6.p3-1 tzdata-2012f-1
virtualbox-4.2.0-2 virtualbox-host-modules-4.2.0-2
virtualbox-host-source-4.2.0-2 virtualbox-modules-4.1.22-1 [removal]
virtualbox-source-4.1.22-1 [removal] xf86-video-intel-2.20.8-1

Update:  I just updated my system again and the issue still persists.

Re: Wireless network disconnects constantly

The ath9k driver got patched in linux 3.5.4.  Perhaps those patches cause your issues.
I'm having similar trouble with my ath9k (AR9281).  I'll try downgrading to 3.5.3 and see if it helps for me.

Re: Wireless network disconnects constantly

The excerpt from rc.conf is for eth0 (presumably wired connection). How are you configuring wlan0 (i.e. wifi)?

This definitely helps for me.  I don't know if it's a solution for ath9k problems only, but it may be worth a try.
