I just added the gnome-unstable repository to my pacman.conf, did `pacman -Syu`, upgraded everything, and then rebooted.
GDM gives a fatal error and only shows me a "Log out" button, that when pressed, restarts Xorg/GDM and brings me back to the same error message again. When I switch my /etc/inittab to use LXDM instead, and just try logging in to a Gnome session, Gnome loads my wallpaper, but then errors out and sends me back to LXDM.
I've attached the GDM logs that seem to point to the problem, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I have an alternate DE available as a fallback, but would like to get Gnome working correctly. Any advice would be appreciated.

It's called 'unstable' for a reason

you need to switch to systemd.
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Ah, I didn't realize 3.6 required systemd. I'll try that. Thank you.

Switching to systemd did solve the problem with GDM, but my problems with starting a Gnome session turned out to be an issue with using an alternate Gtk/Window theme. Used tweak-tool to switch back to Adwaita and was able to start everything without a hitch.
Thanks again for the help!

Personally, I think it will be after 3.6.1 is released.

Because they are not held back to meet some arbitrary schedule.
There are still issues to be fixed first.
