Unia I've have no idea about haskell, but you do get a bit of a feel for the xmonad.hs after years of looking at it.
My xmonad.hs is just the parts of other peoples files I liked the look of.

As long as you're at all comfortable with code, it's not too bad. Read the several pages of Learn You a Haskell, and then look up anything confusing, or ask in the xmonad channel. It takes a little getting used to, but if you're opposed to getting used to things, you may be using the wrong distro. wink
