Yesterday I upgraded my system to kernel 3.5.6-1 on a full systemd system. Today the machine failed to boot because of a missing module (the error was something along the lines of "could not find module autofs4"). The first thing I tried was enough to solve my issue: I booted from the arch live iso and then chrooted into my system to reinstall the kernel. What I don't understand is why this is happened. I'm concerned mostly because this is my first kernel upgrade under systemd and I'd like to take all necessary measures to avoid a similar situation in the future. Can someone point me in the right direction? What am I missing here?
Thanks for your time.

Thank you ackt1c, indeed my /boot is not mounted. Reinstallation solved my issue because when I chrooted I mounted /boot. I didn't think of it.
