dvb-t stick firmware not loaded :(

Hi

I've got a dvb-t usb stick with it9135 chipset and successfully got it working in ubuntu 12.04 with installing v4l from git and copying downloaded firmware files from manufacturer website to the firmwares directory (as it's told in this guide: http://damiango.wordpress.com/2012/06/0 … ntu-12-04/ ). But after doing same things in arch linux, I get an error message when I try to open it up in vlc media player. Seems that for a reason udev cannot load the firmware. Would anyone plz help me overcoming this issue?

Have you tried the AUR package?

edit: the main difference is that the instructions you link to install to /lib/firmware rather than /usr/lib/firmware.  The PKGBUILD does this properly - though I can't verify that it works otherwise as I don't have this hardware.  In general, always check for AUR packages before you try to manually install.
