Midnight Commander (mc) strange behaviour/lag

Latest XFCE, terminal, mc.

If, for example, left panel has not many files (3-5) and right panel has many files (like 30-40) when I move to right panel, press "Down" and came to last file on screen there is a near 1 second delay before right panel redraw and moves to next files, if both panels has many files no any delay at all in moving through the list of files on panel.

I could not reproduce that here:
openbox, konsole, mc.
