Re: sendmail

sendmail is not in repos. postfix is there instead.

Secure, fast, easy to administer drop in replacement for Sendmail (MTA)

Re: sendmail

I thought it was because it was too insecure?

I only use it for local and outbound mail. I don't connect my port 25 to the internet.
I have a working configuration for sendmail. Now I found exim and have to cope with stupid error messages.
Also there is probably no tool that converts my sendmail.mc  into an exim.conf.

Re: sendmail

Why sendmail isn't in the repositories: simple, try to find a maintainer for it, nobody who wants to tongue

Sendmail is a beast to maintain, I tried it once when I was starting with linux, I was confused and installed a package instead. I wouldn't like to maintain sendmail, I almost hate it as much as I do with qmail.
