I have followed the instructions found here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Broadcom_wireless to get wifi on my hp mini 210. However when I do ifconfig and iwconfig, I don't see any wireless device, just my wired and lo.
I have added b43 to a file called cat /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf
b43
blacklist b43legacylspci gives me this
02:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01)lsmod gives me

Looks normal. Although I do get an additional message on my (non-Arch) system:
b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 508.1084 (2009-01-14 01:32:01)Completely random troubleshooting tips:
- remove the firmware and reload the module, see if it complains
- unload not only the b43 module but also its dependencies (ssb, mac80211, cfg80211, ...) and then reload
- check the hardware wireless switch

-It complains without the module and I then reinstalled the firmare by hand and it stopped complaining but still no device or firmware version line.
-did this and no dice
-it appears that the hardware switch is on the keyboard and you just press and hold (I tried this on another mini with windows in it), maybe it does work but the keyboard button doesn't making it never turn on?

I managed to get it working by reverting to the broadcom-wl driver.
