Xerox Printer P8ex seems to go to sleep?

This is the problem, I can normally print to it ok using cups, but I think it goes to a power savermode then nothing prints well util the next time I startup the computer and out comes all the documents, any ideas? Using the USB connection by the way.

May be it needs a kick somehow to wake it up.
