[Solved] Can't boot after upgrade - no /dev/mapper/control

Please forgive any typos - I'm having to post this on my phone

After a system update, I rebooted my system because Linux was one if the updated packages.

I get the error: /dev/mapper/control: open failed: No such device

I then get: No volume groups found

Normally, I would get past this error with "lvm vgchange -ay" but this just repeats the first error.

I've tried loading dm-mod, but it doesn't seem to work in the emergency shell

Any ideas?

Nevermind - I booted into an isntall boot and reinstalled the kernel & that fixed it.
