I updated the database and ran:
donryanocero@io:~$ sudo pacman -S cups resolving dependencies... looking for inter-conflicts... error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies) :: poppler-glib: requires poppler=0.20.3 :: poppler-qt: requires poppler=0.20.3
I can't install poppler, it gives the same output. Any idea what's going on and how to fix this?

`pacman -Syu cups`
Edit for explanation: I suspect you have done a "pacman -Sy" which updated your database without doing a full "pacman -Syu" so your current install attempt with cups would install the wrong version of packages.

ah hah! this fixed it. I've broken several arch installations in the past with too much -Syu ing. I guess i've overcompensated!
Thank you for the help!
