Looking at the files in the package, it looks as though gecko-sdk should be able to replace Firefox for apps such as Yelp, which use Gecko but not XUL. Is this yet the case?
(I know there's some stuff that gecko-sdk doesn't provide, but I believe that would be provided by nss and nspr...)
Edit: I know there's an info page about this on mozilla.org, but it hasn't been updated since 2001 or so.

No, it's only useful for things like mplayer-plugin and totem. Programs like yelp and epiphany depend on the libgtkmozembed.so library that is included in firefox, thunderbird and mozilla.

Why the heck hasn't Mozilla included that in gecko-sdK?
