function (fn) keys not working anymore !

after update the function keys that used to work perfectly suddenly aren't working. I am using awesome + gnome. anyone facing the same problem ?

There are bug reports about media keys and shortcuts not working in Gnome and xorg-server 1.13 https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32047 , but I'm not sure if this is it.

well they say it will be fixed in gnome 3.6 but not right now since its already in the testing phase ..
