[solved] New /etc/shadow with filesystem-2012.10-2
With today's filesystem upgrade, a .pacnew file for /etc/shadow was created. Most of the differences were just from the users and their encrypted passwords. The only notable one is this:
# diff /etc/shadow /etc/shadow.pacnew | grep uuidd
> uuidd:x:14871::::::
< uuidd:!:15607:::::: Is it safe to just do this replacement or even to skip it altogether? I can't really find any info on this. I man-5-shadow'ed and saw that the difference is in the string used to denote "no login with password" and in the date since the last password change. Seems pretty inoccuous to me. Can this merge just be skipped altogether?

Yes, I remember that change back when it happened. Well, I'll just go ahead and merge that part of the file then since it doesn't seem to be very important for non-new installs.
